How to order the right parts for Kenworth T370

The Kenworth T370 is a working truck, and the front end takes most of the punishment. Bumpers get clipped at loading docks and in tight alleys, and headlight lenses get sandblasted by road grit until the beam turns dull and yellow. Once a light fails or a bumper hangs loose, the truck won’t pass inspection, and a day parked usually costs more than the part itself.

What sets the T370 apart

Kenworth built the T370 from 2008 to 2021 as a Class 7 medium-duty conventional. It shares its cab and front-end styling with the lighter T170 and T270, so a bumper or headlight listed for all three fits by design. Headlights for T660 and T370 trucks from the 2008-2018 period also share one design, which is why many assemblies carry both model numbers.

In 2021 the T380 took its place with a wider cab and a redesigned front end. Lights and bumpers from the newer truck won’t fit the older one, and the reverse is true as well.

Choosing a bumper

Aero-style bumpers are standard on many T370s, with 16 inches being a common height, though taller versions exist for owners who want more coverage. Going taller can hide tow points or fog light openings your current setup depends on. Before changing height, look at what is mounted to the old bumper and what the body builder may have attached behind it. Axle position matters too, since some bumpers are made only for set-back or only for set-forward axle trucks.

Material is where buyers save or lose money over time. Stainless steel shrugs off road salt and doesn’t need constant polishing, so we recommend it for trucks that work through northern and Midwest winters. Chrome-plated steel looks sharp out of the box and costs less, but one deep stone chip lets rust creep under the plating.

A bent bumper is tempting to straighten. The problem is that chrome plating cracks when the steel gets pulled back into shape, and rust shows up within a season. Once the face is creased or a mounting bracket is torn, replacing the bumper costs less over the life of the truck.

Headlights: stock look or full LED

Headlight problems on the T370 usually start with clouding or cracks in the lens, moisture getting inside the housing, or the mounting tab breaking off after a minor impact. Replacing the bulb does not solve any of these problems. Replacing the entire assembly restores the shape of the light beam and reseals the housing. Sealing a crack in the lens with silicone or tape will, at best, last only a few weeks. Water continues to seep inside, the reflector corrodes, and the light is scattered toward oncoming traffic - which is precisely what prompts an inspector to issue a citation. You have two main options. A chrome housing keeps the factory appearance. A black housing with LED projectors and a built-in turn signal throws a whiter, more focused beam and gives the front a newer look.

Will T660 headlights fit a T370?

Often, yes. Trucks from the 2008–2018 period use the same headlight design, and many assemblies are listed for both models. Check the years in the listing to be sure.

Can I install these parts myself?

Headlights are a bolt-in job with basic hand tools. A bumper is heavier work and goes much easier with a helper and a floor jack.

Are these original Kenworth parts?
